</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE1LAXF_oDHkhVhi2G3vo3HdWHKn_2tQJYwb1L1qA5cBdDwiey1Y1Y16-vL54sQvNwieFbxCm-QoHcm2-kiPl-ZxojEF6vTmm36L9VtkAtMd9I-KZ9HugVoup0SMxGpbIHtBATOKtDfZI/s1600/Supergame.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE1LAXF_oDHkhVhi2G3vo3HdWHKn_2tQJYwb1L1qA5cBdDwiey1Y1Y16-vL54sQvNwieFbxCm-QoHcm2-kiPl-ZxojEF6vTmm36L9VtkAtMd9I-KZ9HugVoup0SMxGpbIHtBATOKtDfZI/s640/Supergame.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">I've read many articles criticizing the many brave and foolish developers who failed at creating a good game about The Man of Steel. The consensus is that it's incredibly difficult to stay true to the godlike power of Superman while confining him to game mechanics. The glaring problem being Superman's invulnerability, the minute you stick a health bar on him as a developer you've lost.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">This got my old hamster wheels turning. How would I make a Superman game if given the chance? Surprisingly I have not one but three solutions which would make awesome Superman games.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">Let's take a look at the big picture. As a player I would like to have access to a true Superman experience. I want all his powers, and I don't want any gimmicks limiting those powers. What that means is you end up handing me a game which I can't lose. Essentially being Superman means you will always overcome anything thrown at you. Video game wise being Superman also disrupts several mechanics I look to for enjoyment. There literally is 0 room for character progression or leveling because Superman's powers start at the strongest they can be. There also is very little to discover, as I kind of already have an idea of what I'm in for. I'm going to Punch things and fly. If there are swarms of things you mix it up with heat vision or ice breath.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">Shoehorning Superman into a traditional action or RPG game will end up in disaster every time so you have to innovate!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">Idea 1.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Crime Management (Choice and consequence)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgraU9Uzujrlgz7_IC8NzJAoZCGj2Qpj8Uwp9b9L5Knwig0gZiIfFd6GfjQ-t-C_RIngUMpuHq1b1NzECF2uNOSUi0E3IJEiXsk4G0O-KjNPtElrR9Kew3MQ8TP7Tp2SQJHMvaHY0BV8cA/s1600/Superman+Galaxy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgraU9Uzujrlgz7_IC8NzJAoZCGj2Qpj8Uwp9b9L5Knwig0gZiIfFd6GfjQ-t-C_RIngUMpuHq1b1NzECF2uNOSUi0E3IJEiXsk4G0O-KjNPtElrR9Kew3MQ8TP7Tp2SQJHMvaHY0BV8cA/s640/Superman+Galaxy.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">We take Superman and give him an open world. All powers are available to you from the beginning. The game world is persistent and the most important feature is the A.I. Each citizen is living and aging making daily decisions, that affect the other citizens. If a building is destroyed citizens die, and structures take time to be rebuilt. I'm talking about an A.I. so advanced that even your criminals aren't just nameless faceless thugs but they have family and their actions cause ripples in the game. Then we take this living world and light it on fire. As Superman, you can stop many of the problems happening around you, but you can't stop them all. What you choose to ignore, and what you respond to shapes the world that will in time become unique to the player. Taking a hands-on approach may lead to the creation of smarter more deadly super-villains while a hands-off approach may create rogue metahuman vigilantes that you have to deal with. To take this idea a step further, you're not only limited to protecting Earth. You monitor a few dozen planets which always seem to be on the brink of a planetary disaster.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">Idea 2.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Brain before brawn. (Creativity provides progression)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0-G4V5vKQvIKOhfL1KmJwnEMhkQgXKPU1fle7fYNv6yL3XWBucuOPzAfiN5WMFBqF7RICV68rKwGJpiV8O7hlnzQK7_eoiBZBg4A2Gh_42nmvJlJvae4sWp4IeLxcF2dNrZuCSoLVCsQ/s1600/Solar+Shrink+Ray.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="627" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0-G4V5vKQvIKOhfL1KmJwnEMhkQgXKPU1fle7fYNv6yL3XWBucuOPzAfiN5WMFBqF7RICV68rKwGJpiV8O7hlnzQK7_eoiBZBg4A2Gh_42nmvJlJvae4sWp4IeLxcF2dNrZuCSoLVCsQ/s640/Solar+Shrink+Ray.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">We take Superman and once again we need to give him a vibrant world worth protecting. The NPC's don't have to be as advanced as those in my first idea but we do need buildings to be populated and for people to be able to flee, die or be saved. The enemies you face can't destroy you. Some may if they have kryptonite but the problems they present can't be solved by simply punching through waves and waves of trash mobs. You have to use your powers creatively as well as develop tools in the fortress of solitude (maybe some gathering crafting magic/science) in order to avert tragedy. Essentially each crisis will have it's own invisible clock in which you have to figure out the true threat, find out how to neutralize it with the least amount of casualties, and repeat. You lose once the planet is destroyed. It would be best if the crisis can be procedurally generated so the game continues to feel fresh. In between each major crisis, Superman can spend time handling street level crime which provide subtle clues as to what the next big event may be. You're also free to use the downtime between crisis to invent things in the fortress and test out your own super experiments.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">Idea 3.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Super Simulation (Emotions are key)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEincIKhIp41lXkGnQ2qEWDdedaMC8q6zdLuQDTCjMbsWSRNXPj3geIhQ5UQIG9ehfX3A2v0fC07_BXdMV2R1ZHSc8wxAnCAidV3Zl9EquE_PlVhNBYeMKWDysBoCmERWGzc8wnqFR389-A/s1600/SuperSim.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEincIKhIp41lXkGnQ2qEWDdedaMC8q6zdLuQDTCjMbsWSRNXPj3geIhQ5UQIG9ehfX3A2v0fC07_BXdMV2R1ZHSc8wxAnCAidV3Zl9EquE_PlVhNBYeMKWDysBoCmERWGzc8wnqFR389-A/s640/SuperSim.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">We don't have full control of Superman but can direct him to handle certain tasks. We manage his daily life and his Super life as well as his interaction with others. The resources you manage are supermans emotions, and his overall mood is determined by the outcome of events. Sometimes he saves the day, sometimes he's not in time. All you can do is try to make the people happy and try to keep superman happy because a happy superman performs better under pressure. You also get to manage his love life, maybe lead the justice league and try to spend time as Clark Kent as well. All in a Sims like way.</span><br />

If you bought the Identigene kit and realized that you can't perform the testing in NY state. Have no fear your certified DNA collector is here. I did a brief stint as a drug test /DNA collector and I am offering my services to anyone that needs them for $100 I come out to you and perform the collection anywhere within the 5 boroughs. It's actually a great deal considering my competitors charge anywhere from $200 - $350 for the same service. Also here's a pic of me performing a collection in a french newspaper for anyone that wants to question my experience.<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgD16lfab2u4uyHiT9y3oMnh4iA4P6tK8k0xhBe7hcfnGMcbdCOGY-BL9ru-pX_rtkmiSjdMbLtiWQcKLyVlfgurbTFV5tMUxHGlwcGcz20pRcr_gZKSriHb2UAtM3k_PHGyKj0bNAlK4o/s1600/20130512_183419.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgD16lfab2u4uyHiT9y3oMnh4iA4P6tK8k0xhBe7hcfnGMcbdCOGY-BL9ru-pX_rtkmiSjdMbLtiWQcKLyVlfgurbTFV5tMUxHGlwcGcz20pRcr_gZKSriHb2UAtM3k_PHGyKj0bNAlK4o/s1600/20130512_183419.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
The PS Vita is a wonderful gaming device, I own the system and the games that are released that I think I would enjoy I purchase. With that said poor sales, and a lack of games have sent the system into a death spiral that seems impossible to recover from. Fans of the Vita often champion the power of the machine and all the potential it has to produce amazing gaming experiences, while a larger more vocal majority are content with saying the Vita is dead and moving on to playing their 3DS or mobile phone games.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If you aren't familiar with why exactly the vita is failing there is a very compelling argument on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCODtTcd5M1JavPCOr_Uydg">Extra Credits</a> Youtube channel. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="480" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/REaUzHef9h4" width="853"></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div>
From my time spent perusing through gaming forums Vita owners usually claim that the reason the Vita isn't selling is because of: </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<ol>
<li>Lack of advertising from Sony. </li>
<li>The proprietary memory cards are egregiously overpriced. (I agree with this as well)</li>
<li>The system is overpriced</li>
<li>Sony not being able to retain console exclusivity of Capcom's Monster Hunter series ended the Vita before it began. (The lack of good games argument)</li>
<li>Sony gave up on the Vita, which was substantiated by <a href="http://www.polygon.com/2014/6/18/5820824/indies-third-party-games-are-vitas-focus-moving-forward">this article</a> on Sony providing less first party support for the device.</li>
</ol>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://psmedia.playstation.com/is/image/psmedia/pstv-imageblock-hand-02-450-us-29may14?$TwoColumn_Image$" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://psmedia.playstation.com/is/image/psmedia/pstv-imageblock-hand-02-450-us-29may14?$TwoColumn_Image$" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
I however believe that Sony can turn the Vita around with the PlayStation TV. Sony is positioning the PS TV, as a budget console/streaming box. Essentially it's a PS Vita that you connect to your television and control with either a Dualshock 3 or Dualshock 4 controller. The PS TV will retail for about $99. This device will be an attractive buy for those who aren't willing to shell out between $299 - $399 for one of the big three next gen consoles on the market this holiday season. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The PlayStation TV launch library for first time buyers will appear to be massive. The Vita suffered from a trickle of games coming in over time always leaving it's owners with the feeling that there are no games to play. Here we are close to 3 years later and the native Vita library has grown considerably not to mention the PlayStation TV will be able to draw games from the PSP library, PS1 classics, as well as from the PlayStation Now streaming service. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
By removing Vita from the PlayStation TV name I think Sony hopes to give the console a fresh start by removing the stigma that the Vita is dead from the new console. When first time consumers search for the Vita and encounter page after page of negativity I'm sure that has a negative impact on sales. A quick Google of PlayStation TV and the consumer isn't greeted with even 1% the amount of sales damaging chatter that the Vita faces. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If the PlayStation TV sells, and the Vita install base grows it will mitigate some of the risk with game developers which means they may be willing to take a chance on the system bringing more games to the platform and reversing the death spiral. Of course if those memory cards could get another price cut with the introduction of the 64GB that will incentive new buyers, as well as current owners. With the price of memory cards being so high and the push for digital only games Vita owners simply don't have the space, and I think the same will be true for PlayStation TV owners.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Most importantly the PlayStation TV will require some very clever advertising campaigns highlighting that the price point of the system itself is extremely competitively positioned. Many users suggested that Sony bundle the Vita with the PS4 in order to help increase the install base, and after this weeks Gamescom announcement that the PS4 has sold 10 million units that may have worked, or it could have slowed PS4 sales. This was clearly a risk Sony wasn't willing to take. I think that a PS4/PlayStation TV bundle could be a worth while venture. The bundle could be priced at $479 selling the Vita TV at a 20 dollar lose which will be recouped from PS4 owners now having to purchase Vita memory cards (brand new revenue stream) this also enhances the value of PS plus to new buyers who I believe should receive a month free with the bundle. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The marketing pitch I envision for the bundle is one console for two rooms. I can also see ad campaigns where people are enjoying PS4 gaming without the PS4 anywhere in view with the tag line being where's your PS4? This can also be modified to push the traditional Vita with the answer to where's your PS4? being everywhere.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
With Sony continuing forward with the release of PlayStation TV is proof enough that they haven't abandoned the Vita as a platform. They are approaching the problem at it's core; if you grow the install base then you save the Vita. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Cheers and Gaming Teddy Bears!</div>

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I'm proud to announce that I will be officially offering product photography, and it's available for purchase now. I am equipped to shoot products against a black, or super white back drop with either shadows or natural reflections. The pricing for this service is $10 per product, and $10 to retouch with a 10 product minimum. If you have less than 10 items use the contact page to get in touch with me and I'll be happy negotiate a fair price with you. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-size: large;">As you can see purchasing the package online nets you a $50 discount and for all you early birds use the promo code REBORN at checkout to take another $50 off. I know your probably thinking that is the "cheapest product photography in NYC" and you're absolutely right you wont find affordable product photography anywhere else but these deals wont last (I feel like I've heard this before, looks like years of television ads are finally paying off). There is a limited supply of promo codes so don't hesitate.</span><br />

<span style="color: white;">Today I'll officially begin offering mobile app prototyping for both IOS and Android. The basic package is three screens for $200. Single screen purchases are $75 each. The end product is an html file which can be launched full screen on your phone giving the appearance of an actual finished application. You will also receive a PDF document containing each static screen, a video chat consultation, as well as a white screen video showing basic app flow similar to the video below. (voiceover not included)</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span style="color: white;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<span style="color: white;">We will take your notes and sketches and turn them into a clickable prototype so you can display your high level concept as well as begin to lay the foundation for your UI/UX (user interface and user experience).</span></div>
<div style="color: black; margin: 0px;">

<div style="color: black; margin: 0px;">
App development is very expensive, and one of the barriers to entry is just being able to get your concept out of your head and into the real world. </div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoQr7md8XQrqICzeh3JNhA8SpfsfSrPAWG9dtJuqW6OKx4ey7-L5lo3qMcc6rk-j53hyphenhyphen-rIo9KB7-Zn9xctuBsUBzgdLcmsZ19W_Us6pzHT2gMFuj0A_HNmtq3fANd-cqRDI7ZgP6zd-E/s1600/KickstarterSolid.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoQr7md8XQrqICzeh3JNhA8SpfsfSrPAWG9dtJuqW6OKx4ey7-L5lo3qMcc6rk-j53hyphenhyphen-rIo9KB7-Zn9xctuBsUBzgdLcmsZ19W_Us6pzHT2gMFuj0A_HNmtq3fANd-cqRDI7ZgP6zd-E/s640/KickstarterSolid.png" width="640" /></a></div>
The campaign I'm referencing can be found <a href="http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/joshenreborn/orahs-the-best-way-to-discover-and-share">here</a><br />
<br />
There are many tips out on the inter-webs, and I feel like I've read at least a hundred of them. The common theme is the strength in building your own personal following before launching a campaign, which in itself is possibly the most daunting task.<br />
<br />
Safe to say you probably are having just as much trouble as I am building that crucial following. Today is day one of my Kickstarter campaign and this is my road map to a successful 30 day project:<br />
<br />
Blog Posts - I am going to increase my blogging during this 30 day period on topics related to both Kickstarter, and areas where my project category coincide. These blog posts will all have direct links to the campaign, and the right post has the ability to pull in tons of free traffic. If you are reading this phase 1 of my plan is working and I'm drawing you in with related content with the ultimate goal of converting you into someone who is interested in the campaign overall.<br />
<br />
Email Blasts - I spent a large deal of time gathering email contacts of parties I thought would be both interested in the project, and have the influence necessary to spread the word to a larger audience. I also gathered a few press contacts who I thought would be interested in covering Orahs. I created three basic html draft emails, an introductory email, a Kickstarter launch email, and the press inquiry.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
Facebook Advertising - After launching the campaign I immediately took to Facebook. I made an appeal for pledges, and shares on my personal page as well as my fan pages. I then boosted the post initially for $25. I also created a Facebook Ad, investing $50 in total. <br />
<br />
Create YouTube Videos - The hope of a video going viral springs eternal. I planned out 4 videos that I will release periodically during the course of the campaign. If one video does go viral it will be a huge help to the campaign. Despite the slim odds, it's another free alternative to explore. Paid promotion via YouTube is also a viable option but while it may drive video views, those clicks might not make the jump over to Kickstarter.<br />
<br />
Instagram - My final plan is to take pictures through the entire process. Instagram is excellent at gathering views. Each eye ball could possibly drive a word of mouth share, and most importantly it's free.<br />
<br />
Physical Fliers - I'm approaching my $50K goal as a more reasonable 5,000 initial user sign up. So I'm printing up 5,000 fliers to try and reach real world $10 backers. The only real success I've seen thus far has been the power of real interactions.<br />
<br />
Finding a large audience is difficult, on almost any medium. I found that having direct conversations is the most effective way to turn a stranger into an evangelist, but that method is slow and very difficult to scale. In the end we have to settle for any and every eyeball we can get onto our campaign, in this numbers game a pledge is important but earning a share can be equally as powerful, and in the long run more valuable.Joshen Rebornhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750446427795970516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8981744100567176025.post-17120803729118958772013-11-11T10:44:00.000-05:002013-11-11T10:44:31.154-05:00Photoshoot Complete! I did a photo shoot on 11/03/13 for Pan & Dev. It was a very cold Sunday morning, the talent was late, and the batteries in my flash were half dead. Even with all those negative factors in play, the images that followed are some of the best I've shot so far. Now although I thoroughly enjoy making videos, I have to say switching hat's and flexing the photography muscle has been a fun. I still feel like I have a lot to learn, before I can consider myself a full fledged adult photographer, but I definitely think I hit my awkward photographer puberty phase.</div>

<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: white; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">NEW YORK CITY, New York - September 19, 2013 - Orahs is a New York based Tech startup that aims to change the way we discover and share content by allowing users to leave content in physical locations. The focus of Orahs is allowing users to cultivate a local audience, discover local talent, and preserve local culture. In the same breath, the app aims to allow for a similar type of viral sharing facilitated by the internet via a real world network of people. This network is updated by the natural flow of people in and out of an area, combined with the ability for content to become “nestled” and move passively with users from place to place. The larger goal of the company is to make geofencing technology simple, and accessible, for everyone from their mobile devices.</span></div>
<span style="color: white;"><b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /><span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span></b>
</span><br />
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: white; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">“When I say we are making Geofencing accessible, the follow up response is usually, ‘What’s Geofencing?’ The technology is powerful, but it’s only now really being experimented with by big business as a means to effectively communicate with customers” said Joshen McEwen, the 26-year-old founder of the Company. Orahs will allow it’s users to create “GeoFences,” which are virtual perimeters created in real world locations. When users enter these fences, they can be presented with text push notifications, photos, video, or even audio. The messaging a business wants to provide a customer at home may not be the same message they want to deliver to a customer in front of their store. With Geofencing, businesses can provide the right message at the right place and time. The company has made public statements that current mobile advertising is ineffective and unimaginative. It interrupts the mobile experience in such a jarring way that the message, no matter how compelling, is often lost. “The goal is for there to be no way to differentiate an ad from content. Ads should not interrupt the experience they should provide an experience” said McEwen.</span></div>
<span style="color: white;"><b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /><span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span></b>

<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: justify;">

Musicians, Photographers, Filmmakers, Creatives, Consumers, and Businesses should all feel at home on the platform because we designed it to be the right tool for the right person. The app gives the user the freedom to manipulate real world space any way they want to. Whether a user wants to create a web series where viewers have to travel to points of interest to discover the next episode, or if they wants to archive precious memories, so they can re-discover and relive them at a later date, they can do it. Your content defines the space and enhances it.</span></div>
<span style="color: white;"><b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /><span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span></b>

The app is planning an initial release to Android and iOS, with a future release to Google Glass. The company is planning a Kickstarter campaign to reach their final funding goals and push through the final stages of development. According to McEwen, “without crowdfunding, Orahs wouldn’t be more than just a grandeur idea. The barriers to entry seem impossible when you are trying to create impossible things. Crowdfunding, and the success of so many other larger than life projects, really kept hope alive for us. When the world believes in you, there is no impossible.” To find out more, please visit </span><a href="http://www.orahs.com/" style="text-decoration: none;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: underline; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">http://www.Orahs.com</span></a><span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span></span></div>

<a href="http://www.orahs.com/">www.Orahs.com</a> understand some people want to skip my thoughts, and musings, and just learn more about this wonderful app.<br />
<br />
I'm sure that everyone from casual mobile users, to social media gurus are looking for the next big mobile app. What they are really looking for is our next advance in sharing the human experience. The mobile space is literally exploding, and I believe that mobile computing, and wearable devices have a very real chance of one day replacing the desktop computer completely. Today we exist in what I feel is the technological renaissance of the world. My contribution to that renaissance is Orahs.<br />
<br />
Orahs in it's most simple form allows a person to share content to a real world location for others to discover. We love to share, we have shown this with each upload to Instagram, with every minute of video watched, and shared to Youtube, with every like, and every tweet. We are constantly reaching out to each other, and our sharing has reached such a critical mass that the message we so desperately want to be received is being lost. Our greatest communication channel morphs instantly into our most alienating. It's hard to imagine but for some the internet is deafeningly silent, and lonely.<br />
<br />
We need to take a step forward.<br />
<br />
What is needed is a platform that can reach a global audience, as well as a local audience, without any compromise. We need to leverage the vital technology we carry with us to deliver relevant content based on where we are in the moment. We need a platform which doesn't interrupt the flow of life, but seamlessly becomes a part of it. This is the step forward we take with Orahs.<br />
<br />
I was persuaded once to go to a multi level marketing meeting. I'm very vocal to the fact that I personally do not subscribe to the MLM business model, but a friend was in pretty deep so I went for the moral support. The night was a complete waste with the exception of two things. One, I had the most amazing shrimp tacos I ever had in my entire life, and two the speaker had a quote with a bit of insight. He said "Make what you love your hobby, but make what the world loves your business." It instantly rang true with me. I'm positive that the world loves to share. It's coded into our very DNA, that need to connect with another human being. Communication is our true timeless industry, and I will continue to look for ways for us to relate more efficiently. Every step we take forward, every advance links back to us being a social creature. In the very end all that we have done, and all that we will do was in the pursuit of a connection. Allow me to facilitate your connection, whether it's connecting to someone else, or connecting back to ourselves.<br />
<br />
I offer to the world the next step forward.<br />
<br />
Cheers!<br />

<br />
I have a long standing relationship with the big Bosstress over at <a href="http://cookibox.com/">CookiBox LLC</a>. So when there is a chance for us to collaborate, and help each other achieve our goals I'm all over it. We joined forces, and enlisted the aid of <a href="https://twitter.com/Mrs_Shiba">Mrs_Shiba</a> and did a co branded photoshoot. The day was long, the drinks were delicious, and the women were beautiful, always a good time in my book.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v0wiNF5A0K0/UiOpB1RS-SI/AAAAAAAACVA/Ocpit1SMpZE/s1600/Toshiba_IMG_9638-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v0wiNF5A0K0/UiOpB1RS-SI/AAAAAAAACVA/Ocpit1SMpZE/s640/Toshiba_IMG_9638-2.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>

<br />
I cant say enough that <a href="http://followgram.me/mrs_shiba">Mrs_Shiba</a> is one dope model, she's funny, patient, and definitely not afraid to attack some chili cheese fries. I thank her for coming out, and putting in all that work. As with any photo's that appear here the full album can be found in the photography section.<br />

Look out for the Goodiz brand, it's pooping up all over the place and they are indeed taking orders. My suggestion to you is to get your hands in the CookiBox before it's all sold out.<br />

I love it when I get a model just being herself, candid, natural, and just chill as fuck.<br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6d2QYPbfAF8/Uhv7f8XpRcI/AAAAAAAACMg/TN6scmHswAA/s1600/Iconics_IMG_9531.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6d2QYPbfAF8/Uhv7f8XpRcI/AAAAAAAACMg/TN6scmHswAA/s640/Iconics_IMG_9531.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
When I look at this picture, it makes me feel like I wasn't even in New York, When I took it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-alOspOpicpM/Uhv7O5h5D1I/AAAAAAAACL0/3oVaEzuNSfQ/s1600/Iconics_IMG_9501.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-alOspOpicpM/Uhv7O5h5D1I/AAAAAAAACL0/3oVaEzuNSfQ/s640/Iconics_IMG_9501.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I've been on the hunt recently for timeless images. Although I'm searching for these images purely for commercial application, that shouldn't really take away from the value of the art I create as a bi-product.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RmotZrw2vaw/Uhv7eFQn-XI/AAAAAAAACMU/JIPPhgEOWrw/s1600/Iconics_IMG_9521.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="456" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RmotZrw2vaw/Uhv7eFQn-XI/AAAAAAAACMU/JIPPhgEOWrw/s640/Iconics_IMG_9521.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I discovered this wandering photomon thing I'm doing to be a quintessential "win win" as I get to trounce around looking for suitable marketing material, and improve my image capturing chops. I'm actually just really enjoying the process. I'm also discovering the pain of the missed moment.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VHkcT34OE0s/Uhv7nzXWG9I/AAAAAAAACMw/qzb1mZ4Zr14/s1600/Iconics_IMG_9563.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="398" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VHkcT34OE0s/Uhv7nzXWG9I/AAAAAAAACMw/qzb1mZ4Zr14/s640/Iconics_IMG_9563.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
More specifically the moment when the perfect image is right in front of you, and by the time you realize it's already too late.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VgUE3Py6Bic/Uhv66t8_fYI/AAAAAAAACLU/Cp3l16O9CF8/s1600/Iconics_IMG_9473.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VgUE3Py6Bic/Uhv66t8_fYI/AAAAAAAACLU/Cp3l16O9CF8/s640/Iconics_IMG_9473.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I'll most definitely be doing more of these. For every hundred shots I always get that one Iconic image, and these days I need about nine.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sTfx6QVihiI/Uhv7T4J7rhI/AAAAAAAACME/1tawlquT9bU/s1600/Iconics_IMG_9509.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="326" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sTfx6QVihiI/Uhv7T4J7rhI/AAAAAAAACME/1tawlquT9bU/s640/Iconics_IMG_9509.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The complete album can be found in the Photography section under Photo Journey 2013.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well I was doing a bit of Photoshop work today. Nothing fancy, just designing some custom social media buttons for a landing page I was working on. I thought it would be wickedly creative, and a deep breath of fresh air to link to my social media entities, and stick to the common theme of my new page.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then I thought to myself, "wait a minute maybe, this could get me sued" and after a bit of research I found that I was right. So while it may seem like a creative way to spice up the monotony of sharing those some old boring logos, by all means go with the boring. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Quite frankly any person (but I'm sure they save extra special litigation time for Businesses that violate) that violates or misuses a companies trademark, (they do have guidelines) can be sued.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The good news is that companies usually do provide the safe version of buttons for you to use, here are twitters guideline safe buttons. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I guess the simple Business tip here is to avoid simple pitfalls that can potentially get you sued. Sounds simple but you would be surprised just how tricky avoiding the court room could get.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin9ZCYIi7jaKn9SCzsQ9y9t_elMRa9IMnrsaUE8ybE7i3NwgHlW5wZlMJVq5crbpKZ89pmqoRZWNITgCAuGAbulw8-o1rQx6AJpR-OEz16k9IlKodDi4Jkzuxmn31pewxfiOYviGmEwKY/s1600/Original+Orahs+Invert.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="433" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin9ZCYIi7jaKn9SCzsQ9y9t_elMRa9IMnrsaUE8ybE7i3NwgHlW5wZlMJVq5crbpKZ89pmqoRZWNITgCAuGAbulw8-o1rQx6AJpR-OEz16k9IlKodDi4Jkzuxmn31pewxfiOYviGmEwKY/s640/Original+Orahs+Invert.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Inverted Design while cool is for the blog only.(It does have a very Super Saiyin feel to it)<br />
<br />
I am by no means a professional graphic designer, and I say this, because I feel that I'm not at a comfort/skill level where I would design for compensation. I do however create my own logo's, and graphics, all the logos on the service page were designed by me, and created in Photoshop. With all the disclaimers out of the way I required a new logo for an upcoming project, and decided that it was time to try and expand my graphic design skill set, so I attempted to design with the Golden Ratio.<br />
<br />
I first came across the concept of the "Golden Ratio" as <a href="https://www.quora.com/David-Cole" target="_blank">David Cole</a> was debunking the concept that Apple's logo is designed mathematically to these stringent proportions (<a href="https://www.quora.com/Apple-Inc-2/Does-the-Apple-logo-really-adhere-to-the-golden-ratio" target="_blank">Quora Answer</a>). I later found out that my coveted rule of thirds is considered by many to be inferior to the golden ratio, so I thought lets give this thing a shot.<br />
<br />
It took me a while to figure out why this rectangle containing a smaller rectangle and square was so special. Rather than flat out ruining your day with some long winded math heavy explanation, I'll sum it up in two sentences, and an infographic.<br />
<br />
<u><b>Golden Rectangle</b></u><br />
You take a rectangle and divide it into a big square, and tiny rectangle. If <span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: white;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b style="line-height: 21px;">the length of the square divided by the length of the tiny rectangle </b></span><span style="font-family: inherit; line-height: 21px;">is also equal to </span><b style="font-family: inherit; line-height: 21px;">the whole length of the entire large rectangle divided by the length of the inner square </b></span></span>you have a golden rectangle<b style="background-color: black; color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 21px;">. </b><br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfBa4UYFLGMGsurNLBoi8aadUxVWa6c83Pxfj-p08x0eMV9FzHF6aZXHNR5irngqSTz8O4PV9nkZ9iwtcB2or6qsrpt41bAyTfO5v6ekjis1x4QuQMO8yweV8DLiYMZ9a8nIqGta4sECs/s1600/Golden-Ratio.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="331" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfBa4UYFLGMGsurNLBoi8aadUxVWa6c83Pxfj-p08x0eMV9FzHF6aZXHNR5irngqSTz8O4PV9nkZ9iwtcB2or6qsrpt41bAyTfO5v6ekjis1x4QuQMO8yweV8DLiYMZ9a8nIqGta4sECs/s400/Golden-Ratio.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The cool part is that golden rectangles can be divided infinitely to make more golden rectangles. The constant number you reach while dividing is 1.618....more commonly known as Phi.<br />
<br />
Now that I had the basic understanding of golden rectangles, what I needed was an overlay I could put into Photoshop so I could get the proportions. (which I found and will share with you <a href="https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B91l8JwHqvEYemZqZlZIRy0zam8/edit?usp=sharing" target="_blank">Download</a>). Essentially it's a custom shape that you can draw into a transparent top layer, and use as your guide.<br />
<br />
When I finished my Logo adhering to the golden ratio, I was left with this<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_QjvkhajwlLhn9JWihenij3dVKBwaCp0cKwOY0sKESOtkrt2_gGj-4yuzMMfGvRqoKArtcabie-DZoZ49FMF4AmUlFHxoDIR-Ix01NvdAIcjHzYbdSmgvsgY8Fo9oFLXMzRrglJz5nKA/s1600/Original+with+Overlay.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_QjvkhajwlLhn9JWihenij3dVKBwaCp0cKwOY0sKESOtkrt2_gGj-4yuzMMfGvRqoKArtcabie-DZoZ49FMF4AmUlFHxoDIR-Ix01NvdAIcjHzYbdSmgvsgY8Fo9oFLXMzRrglJz5nKA/s320/Original+with+Overlay.jpg" width="320" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLBT2cNwyc7V3qpx7YQPmbZshCaEEkIG_8s9pFGzDPDW6MrzzsCbwrJZmFF_w_P4dLsYoTb5oixvozJ04h-QImhNwwDr12BLgaY5fgGFyGmTH7mGcbCBNTuPfPfWYTzksE0u1Tc-JR1D8/s1600/Finished+logo+one+Golden+Proportions.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLBT2cNwyc7V3qpx7YQPmbZshCaEEkIG_8s9pFGzDPDW6MrzzsCbwrJZmFF_w_P4dLsYoTb5oixvozJ04h-QImhNwwDr12BLgaY5fgGFyGmTH7mGcbCBNTuPfPfWYTzksE0u1Tc-JR1D8/s320/Finished+logo+one+Golden+Proportions.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
I was happy with the overall look, but because of the nature of my logo I had tons of dead space which I wasn't too thrilled with. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcUSx75k3-zzuu2EIjjF2kBIQQgxaAAqtrQ0gx4_EgRfT3-1shVAEqpdbnxVYfRFtSXPFxIXXsexDP3izpYgNW1ijG12DacvCKAMLd2w8eZCq0WOxE3kHsxiV4wOzYZu6RJ7DZ3lOKch4/s1600/Dead+Space+in+proportions.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcUSx75k3-zzuu2EIjjF2kBIQQgxaAAqtrQ0gx4_EgRfT3-1shVAEqpdbnxVYfRFtSXPFxIXXsexDP3izpYgNW1ijG12DacvCKAMLd2w8eZCq0WOxE3kHsxiV4wOzYZu6RJ7DZ3lOKch4/s320/Dead+Space+in+proportions.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I decided to crop out the dead space maintaining the aspect ratio of the design but destroying the golden ratio, which left me with the following<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgskdaVN7ReojjbsNFQVX-m_8y9ES1E01hxo3Rn9qBz2J1f2PYWHfxasyA7WUvCQdnMzz7StBkE7uQ4D9X9Ag2cR8giANS7IZin0abHtAMl6CZZI-iL_1ZbntqLbmhtxEuNk4MGmQcfrTI/s1600/Orahs+Logo+Original.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="217" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgskdaVN7ReojjbsNFQVX-m_8y9ES1E01hxo3Rn9qBz2J1f2PYWHfxasyA7WUvCQdnMzz7StBkE7uQ4D9X9Ag2cR8giANS7IZin0abHtAMl6CZZI-iL_1ZbntqLbmhtxEuNk4MGmQcfrTI/s320/Orahs+Logo+Original.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
On the other hand I could have adhered to the golden ratio, and simply stretched the image giving it a wider feel. Both are nice but the wider image doesn't pop out to me as being dramatically more aesthetically pleasing, so I stuck with the original design. I could be wrong though, if it's better leave a comment below.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNY8J1EGdO6A8GA1DWTIgT5gAt0B4s7g6ysF9Dfgp64k0LrnlP4zvFE7xVXTV04SyXP6KOjj7apkJo_e1eQl5WdA9UTq-FULTqZwRbHl7K7Bm83aJH0inj6Vefd8YI9FqqMVVYBIcpCAk/s1600/Stretched+to+proportion.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="194" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNY8J1EGdO6A8GA1DWTIgT5gAt0B4s7g6ysF9Dfgp64k0LrnlP4zvFE7xVXTV04SyXP6KOjj7apkJo_e1eQl5WdA9UTq-FULTqZwRbHl7K7Bm83aJH0inj6Vefd8YI9FqqMVVYBIcpCAk/s320/Stretched+to+proportion.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
In the end I think using the golden ratio isn't a matter of adhering strictly to Phi, but using it as a generally accepted guide to proportions. Art can't be created with math, only enhanced. So this exercise, while very enriching, only reinforced what I already believed.<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>We must first understand the rules in order to effectively break them. </li>
<li>If it looks right that's good enough. </li>
</ul>
<br />
So load your editor setup your guides, and then eyeball the hell out of it till it works for you.<br />
<br />
Cheers, and Graphic Design Teddy Bears!</div>

Paternity Test Show.<iframe width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XyozUBVeiRM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe><br />
<br />
The Concept is simple.<br />
<br />
A paternity testing show, without the over dramatized, and outlandish conflict. To finally hear the uncensored, un-scripted, thoughts of real people, on a very real, and serious issue. The hard part was getting past the stigma that current media had created of filming the paternity test process. Who would want to do the test, on camera, when they know the goal of this generation is to create a DNA test spectacle of all those involved? In my search for a subject I feared that one of my greatest ideas would not be realized because I couldn't find a subject. Thankfully, Michael Ash found us. Michael understood immediately what we were trying to do, was very vocal in protecting, and advocating for his son, and most importantly he wanted to share his thoughts, because he needed the test. <br />
<br />
July 15th 2012, We met at the Health Street office, and I shot hours of something I hadn't seen broadcast anywhere. We saw a father who genuinely loved his son, but was not afraid to admit that he had doubt. Michael knew that this very doubt would have an impact on his future relationship with his son if it wasn't put to rest. This was not me attempting to make a funny YouTube video in the hopes of going viral. This was me shooting the next phase of my career. I'm sure that as simple as this video is, it's a turning point for me both as a professional, and as a creative. <br />
<br />
It's almost a full year later and I finally have the means to edit, and release, what I've been calling the most important footage I've ever shot....for now. If you know me personally you would know that I come up with a "million dollar idea" on a daily basis, but I feel that this by far has to be one of the greatest ideas I've had an executed in such an elegant way. I finally see that my concepts can be as big, in reality as they are in my mind. It's very exciting.<br />
<br />
Stay tuned for the thrilling conclusion to the Michael Ash case.<br />
<br />

<br /></div>
I know inquiring minds want to know exactly why I've been absent from the creative scene for so long, and you most definitely deserve answer. Unfortunately you won't find that answer within this post.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Today I want to highlight the importance of location scouting, despite how small your production may be. I'm working on a new short film, and I'm deep into pre-production. I've found 90 percent of the cast, and I'm certain I'll be doing a one man run, and gun because of the simplicity of the project. That said I'm using some of New York City's more iconic locations, (no permit) and although I've been to these places a million times I still decided to go location scouting, and this is the exact reason why that decision was the right one.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<br />
<br />
<div>
<div>
These are recent photo's of Battery Park. It looks like it was hit by a bomb, and that bomb's name is probably hurricane Sandy, but because I hadn't been to the park since the storm I expected it to be in it's pristine business as usual form. In your creative endeavors no matter what you're doing the last thing you really want to do is leave anything up to chance, so go location scouting. Make sure what you see in your minds eye can be translated with the setting available to you hell, while you're out you may find a new location suitable for your current project or a future project down the line. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If you've never gone location scouting before here's my technique.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>I storyboard every project, and instead of using hand drawn stick figures (how I learned to storyboard), I go out take a still frame of the scene, It's a great way to get your composition just right, and it forces you to physically go see your location.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>After I head to the locations I know, I tend to wander around the neighborhood aimlessly. Snapping photos on the fly of spots that would make a suitable substitute for my shots.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Use Google maps. Enter keywords, and see what's nearby while you're pounding the pavement. </li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>In NYC there are many studios for rent. Some offer living room and kitchen setups, and some are bare. </li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>There is also businesses that are committed to providing you with film locations. The first location that comes to mind here in NYC is <a href="http://www.productionparadise.com/member/new_york/1887-townhouse.html" target="_blank">ProductionParadise</a>. The problem with this route is that it's gonna cost you, so be prepared to have a location budget (a few thousand dollars is a good start). </li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Ask people you know if you can shoot at there Homes/Business for free (aim for times when it will inconvenience them the least).</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Rent a room for the day, motels, hotels, apartments on craigslist. Sometimes all you need is a room, and some imagination.</li>
</ul>
<div>
The setting is a major part of storytelling, and the right location can make or break your project. The very least you can do is go see what you have to work with, you never know when you'll find that perfect shot.</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
<br /></div>
I have new exciting news for lovers of reality content, and Paternity tests alike. I'm in the process of executive producing the webs first Paternity testing based reality series. The cost of a paternity test can be quite high, but I may be able to offset the cost by about $100. So if you need a Paternity Test, you're in NY, and you're willing to be part of the initial shooting of this project you can net yourself a nice little discount.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This is a very exciting project to be working on, because like I said earlier it's the first of it's kind on the web. Just to give you a look behind the curtain, I'm soon to be in talks with the CookiBox Network to discuss how we can have shorts distributed domestically, and globally on the cable networks on which CBX content appears. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If you need a paternity test, you are in the greater New York area, and you're willing to let the cameras into your life for a brief moment, fill out the contact page. This is an opportunity to both net yourself, a discount, and to take part in a greater discussion about the reality of paternity testing. Now if you don't care about the discount, and you just want to be famous, contact me! You never know where your big break will come from, after all this is NY.</div>
<div>
<br />
Who's your Daddy? is going to hit the web in a big way, stay tuned.<br />
<br /></div>

Cheers and 99.99% chance of Paternity Teddy Bears!</div>

<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/42LyJy6s-P0" width="640"></iframe></div>
You always remember your first.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
To all the people who watched that russian film on my channel, I finally have an explanation for why I made it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I often shoot and edit for others, but there's nothing like providing a learning experience for someone else. I met Yuliya Daurova while working at HB Studios shooting there acting for camera class and she approached me with both a challenge and opportunity. She wanted to produce a short film, for a Russian film festival, in a very short amount of time. This would be her first film and she was completely new to the situation.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
To this I said challenge accepted.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Yuliya had an idea, and I facilitated putting it into motion. Now with the final product we had to be brutally honest with ourselves, while it looked beautiful, and was nicely shot, and edited,(Pats self on back) the plot wasn't clear enough to translate well with the audience. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
With that said, my first film was nowhere near as elegant, but the first provide you with an origin point from which you can grow and become better in this industry. Despite the hard work, and all the obstacles involved with the creation of this piece, I enjoyed the process and it was an honor to work so closely with Yuliya.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Despite all that I've said the film is doing well with the Russian audience. You can vote for it online at <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/RussiaMartini/ArtLove" style="background-color: black; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" target="_blank"><span style="color: white;">http://www.youtube.com/user/<wbr></wbr>RussiaMartini/ArtLove</span></a> currently it's on page 60 click the red button beneath the video, that is the vote button!</div>
</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi56UG46zg6WlcvJGb5BKJ9nIElmCU9trvLBbaRELDEguMRiR-iOlIBr5I-dTc25XpDs1nwKDV50YlOC34YG6wxIC-2lLaZC6stbry5plt7PKL_d0Hd6aHA6lRFVzRcY8A2FVdkZo3Hj4w/s1600/Pool+Ball+render.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi56UG46zg6WlcvJGb5BKJ9nIElmCU9trvLBbaRELDEguMRiR-iOlIBr5I-dTc25XpDs1nwKDV50YlOC34YG6wxIC-2lLaZC6stbry5plt7PKL_d0Hd6aHA6lRFVzRcY8A2FVdkZo3Hj4w/s640/Pool+Ball+render.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">I learned a lot from making this picture. I think the most important thing I learned is that 3D imaging is fun, and only a tad bit scary</span>.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
I don't want this post to turn into me complaining about my limited technology, and all the things I want to accomplish, but can't because of "insert semi valid reason" XYZ. Instead I have this picture that I finally got to render out of Cinema 4D. I spent a few days trying to learn the program, and although this render is far from perfect, I'm proud of what I created. I also did a small animation but my laptop just can't render it without dying so sadly it is not destined to see the light of day. Not from this workstation at least.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In other news I've decided to focus my efforts on my project focusing around sex appeal. I want to go deep into that raw sexual place, and stop short of giving the viewer an orgasm. Seriously though, I want to harness sexual energy on video without creating a porno, or a world star hip hop honey video. Wish me luck.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In other news......</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I shot the clip below for the weekend hashtag project on vimeo, but like my C4D project my laptop wasn't up to the task of making that particular vid. I will definitely re-purpose it and incorporate it with something in the future but for now it's the only piece of eye candy I can offer. Despite all this I move forward. I've been connecting to some very sexy people, and I'm excited. In a non creepy way.......mostly.</div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In the end, and against all odds I must create. It all boils down to I either I make cool shit, or I'm just full of shit.</div>

The first time I saw the darkside of YouTube was the mass hatening of Rebecca Black. I felt bad for her, because she didn't deserve it. She had done nothing wrong, she had not offended anyone. Rebecca was just a kid, who made a video. That video lead to the most public, and vocal internet bullying I ever witnessed.<br />
<br />
Just because the forum has changed from the playground to the comment section I don't think that the emotional effects are all that diminished. I can only imagine what it's like to have pages, upon pages, of strangers each independent of the other wish me ill will, or that I would die. I personally get excited when I receive any comment. I'm not saying my videos haven't received there fair share of criticism, but it's crazy to see that you have a dislike dark-side light saber beneath your video.<br />
<br />
This brings me to TheReplyGirl.<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/kLjO2qw8v10" width="640"></iframe><br />
<br />
I watch Alejandra's videos, and I feel as if at any moment she's going to burst into tears, and while everyone else screams in caps "stupid bitch", I just feel bad for her. She found a chink in the algorithmic armor of YouTube, and she used it to get herself some exposure. I can't say I would have done anything differently if I were in her shoes, for the 2yrs I've been making creative videos I've barely broken 200 subscribers. I'm not sure what's worse being hated, and living in infamy, or barely existing on anyone's radar?<br />
<br />
The YouTube community comes out in droves when it's time to hate. It's an ignorance that isn't unique to YouTube, but is amplified on YouTube. I can only imagine how it must feel to be embarrassed day after day upon the worlds stage. When you make a video you really put yourself out on the line. People see your face, hear your voice, and become familiar with your settings. They have a part of you, and the risk of them having that part is simple. As quickly as the YouTube community can build you up, and create this global, and fanatical love ala Justin Beiber, they can tear you down ala Rebecca Black, and now TheReplyGirls.<br />
<br />
On the other hand it has to be said that Alejandra's videos are very simple, and they literally are riding on the backs of other popular more entertaining pieces. If Alejandra's work was more creative in nature, provided an insight, or in some way shape or form enhanced, or had some transformative value she would be celebrated! Lets face it, she's essentially doing what we are all doing on YouTube, turning on a camera, and speaking into it.<br />
<br />
Very early on in life I was bullied. In fact things didn't get better for me until Highschool, but I will always remember what that was like. How powerless, and low it could make you feel. Especially when you're bullied by a large group. So Alejandra if you ever do read this, you have my sympathy. My videos looked almost exactly like yours, but because I had no audience I could grow, and refine my craft at my own speed. I hope that you become a better content maker, and one day that mass hate turns into love.
<br />

<br />
<br />
I think that it's horrible practice to only share with the world the days where everything is roses. I think projecting the truth ultimately works out for you more favorably than trying to project the image you want to portray. So here are some high resolution stills of a day that didn't go so well. March 1st 2012 to be exact.<br />
<br />
It all began with me waking up balls early on a cold living room floor. I scrambled around, showered, dressed, and grabbed at least 50 pounds worth of camera equipment, and made my way to the Wix lounge. I was scheduled to shoot a scene at 10am for my own personal project entitled "A Modern Deal with the Devil" which I will post up on the feature script section of the blog, because lord only knows when the last time I updated that section.<br />
<br />
My actress didn't show, and we essentially looked like fools who set up lights in the corner of a room only to break them down. We did manage to take these sad pictures as all the other creative professionals around us were amazingly productive.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2mnbMW1EwmiLyZrGQSxA-WMye9EvprOpyd44I7j-CJe06PR_64wji4iHANIFbcMxGW92_rhfcH2feOAwhswkeiK2TCopYULLlW7AZRgc9V2icvdeKnu0vPhhunqFoUGn0O2rEmr33GP8/s1600/WixDay-7639.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2mnbMW1EwmiLyZrGQSxA-WMye9EvprOpyd44I7j-CJe06PR_64wji4iHANIFbcMxGW92_rhfcH2feOAwhswkeiK2TCopYULLlW7AZRgc9V2icvdeKnu0vPhhunqFoUGn0O2rEmr33GP8/s400/WixDay-7639.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Without a video project in hand we decided to get a bite to eat that was inexpensive, and not as bad for us as a 4 course meal at McDonald's. The obvious choice was a Sub from Subways. On my way into the Subway I stop and read a sign on the door that said "Bacon, Egg, and Cheese flat bread sandwich all day!" I thought to myself out loud, as I usually do, "hmmm that sounds good, all day you say Subway? I'll bite" I proceeded to order, and my gracious sandwich consultant cut me off to inform me where the 5 dollar foot long menu was. I told him "That's nice, but I just would like the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich advertised on the door. He told me no that's all day in March, and another Sandwich consultant opened the door and said "Yes all day in April". I ended up ordering a Black forest ham sandwich which I wasn't too keen on, as you can see.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhh8ny5CumUSLwfS-JPj9maKfkGjGIc3GGsHLROR3B9DYs1U1dH-Q9kMzjAqk8GLd5S0G4a1BllPEU6_V0DyJ8WsFfANKFlsb5kkc1_8ykK3Nb8f4re-4YvT5V6p7TEtXWApzBrSgUvsAI/s1600/WixDay-7645.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhh8ny5CumUSLwfS-JPj9maKfkGjGIc3GGsHLROR3B9DYs1U1dH-Q9kMzjAqk8GLd5S0G4a1BllPEU6_V0DyJ8WsFfANKFlsb5kkc1_8ykK3Nb8f4re-4YvT5V6p7TEtXWApzBrSgUvsAI/s400/WixDay-7645.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Finally taking it all in, I passed an artist on the street who put everything into perspective for me. As bad as my day was it had to be an iota of shit in comparison to hers, considering she was drawing while sitting on the semi wet ground. I thought the image semi poetic, and iconic. I asked her if I could snap an image, and she said yes. All in all, not the day I wanted to have, but I bet it was the day I needed to have.<br />

<br />
<br />
So I've been busy with Fashion Week, which is actually a very awkward sentence for me to type because I'm probably the least fashionable creative on the planet. With me anytime is a good time for a graphic t-shirt, some jeans, and a pair of adidas but this week isn't about my lack of style, but about all the gorgeous people buzzing about from show to show picking up what's new, and in style.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-P-zHMsY_BHQ/TzmN3mmuaUI/AAAAAAAABqU/UIVHnLeBZmM/s1600/FashionWeek-7315.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-P-zHMsY_BHQ/TzmN3mmuaUI/AAAAAAAABqU/UIVHnLeBZmM/s400/FashionWeek-7315.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm proud to say that this Fashion Week I can claim the Street Style Photographer Badge as I took a few pics before and after the Richard Chai show. Now I'm no Mr. Newton, but I'm not too shabby.<br />

I'm also cutting up my video for Bloggers Night Out, the girls pulled out all the stops on Feb 9th at Caulfield. The crowd was huge, the drunks free, and a good night was had by anyone who I didn't bump into with my camera.<br />
<br />
I don't have anything too intense planned for the rest of the week maybe a bit more streetstyle, and I'll try to make a mini video recap of all the amazing that went on. <br />

My latest work. I enjoyed this one. Does it relate to the post? Not really. Is it awesome? Yes.<br />
<br />
I am in deep conflict with myself, to be more specific with my past self (Joshen of 2005-2006). It's around late 2005 that I decided to become a screenwriter. It turns out that decision lead to the creation of a business, and me developing artistic skills I never dreamed I would be capable of. For all this I'm very thankful of my past self, but my motivation, both past, and present, is what is creating a bit of a dilemma today. In 05 my reasoning was that I could easily make up to 3 million dollars off the sale of one amazing feature script to a major studio, and that was all I needed to push forward. Today, I am not satisfied with my work, because I feel as though I'm not always making a piece of beauty, sometimes I feel like I'm unsuccessfully selling my creative vagina. Now before we condemn the "05 version of me of being a greedy capitalist snob, who is only motivated by capital gains, lets put it out there that I come from a horrible socio-economic situation, and my goal for many years was to figure out a way to escape said situation.<br />
<br />
The problem persists because as I develop into this creative being, my motivation to profit never waned. It's then a toss up in my own mind whether I'm trying to create, and capture beauty, or I'm simply trying to justify the means to an ultimate end.<br />
<br />
I watched a documentary last night that made me feel horrible about myself, it then proceeded to inspire me, and gave me a sense of pride for what I am, and could potentially be. It was called Bill Cunningham New York (Available on Netflix, and <a href="http://www.zeitgeistfilms.com/videocatalog/product_info.php?products_id=185">here</a>), and it was a brief glimpse into the life of what I would consider a true master of the arts. Bill lived modestly, and is kind beyond words. He has chronicled the people of New York, and fashion in ways that I fear may one day be lost. He is an artist and his reward is finding beauty in an eternal search for more. I recommend watching Bill Cunningham NY, as it was a moving experience for me, as a New Yorker, and as a creative. Bill tips the scales in a conundrum I often think about, what's more important the journey, or the destination?<br />
<br />

I would give my empire for a desk, and bookshelf. Sadly, I have to make due with what I have, and that's a table and a corner of the living room. This is where all the deep thought takes place, where I spend hours on end working away at my computer, and where I figure out how to make something out of nothing. When I'm feeling discouraged I just look at the wall and it reminds me of how far I've come, and where I'm going. This corner office is probably the best thing I've done so far.<br />

Also I would like to send many thanks to Pat Bat, who did this awesome piece of art, randomly. Two years ago the only people who correlated the name Joshen with any importance was my parents, today we can add a few hundred more to the list, and it feels awesome.

The video to my surprise almost broke 1000 views. I enjoyed making it, and I'm trying to get back to enjoying everything I make. I want to add more of my secret ingredient to all my videos; love, and alcohol.<br />
<br />
Baby steps.<br />

<br />
I'm rather proud of myself as I did business outside the borders of the United States for the first time. I always knew that the internet would open these doors, but things feel a whole lot different when the money clears for deposit into my account. I was fortunate enough to recently be contracted out to do a full 2012 E-card campaign for an Occupational therapist in Canada. The deadline for the campaign was the end of January, but I found myself feeling a bit overzealous, and I completed the whole shebang the day after the guidelines were given to me.<br />
<br />
Once I was done writing, I emailed the word document containing line, after line, after line, with a few back up lines to boot, just so that I knew I did a satisfactory job. Shortly after, the money was wired over. I no longer see the U.S. as a boundary for me to make a profit. Where ever in the world there resides money for creative services, I shall seek it out.<br />
<br />
Another milestone on my way to success.<br />

<br />
The culinary arts are one of the most enjoyable art forms around. Fact of the matter is that food is the only art form that can be enjoyed by all five of our senses (Yes, you can hear the snap of a fresh vegetable, the flow of juice from fruit, the sound of different textures breaking down as you chew them). Foods role has evolved from more than simple sustenance, to being one of the most pleasurable experiences this life has to offer. We love food, and like all things, it's a bit sweeter when we share.<br />
